We are looking for an enthusiastic and driven Ecommerce Development Intern to join our team. This internship offers hands-on experience in website development, content management, and integrating e-commerce platforms. You will work closely with our development team to enhance user experiences, optimize functionality, and assist with website maintenance. Ideal candidates should have a basic understanding of web development, e-commerce platforms, and a passion for learning.

Responsibilities

Assist in the design, development, and maintenance of e-commerce websites. Help optimize the functionality and user experience.
Work with APIs and third-party tools for payment gateways, shipping, and other integrations to enhance the e-commerce platform.
Help with identifying and fixing bugs, conducting tests, and ensuring that websites run smoothly across different devices and browsers.
Assist in adding and managing product listings, descriptions, and images to the website's content management system (CMS).
Suggest improvements in site design, navigation, and overall customer experience.
Help implement basic SEO strategies to ensure the site ranks well in search engine results.
Assist in tracking e-commerce performance metrics and generating reports related to traffic, sales, and other key data points.
Work closely with designers, developers, and marketing teams to support all e-commerce projects.

Requirements

Enrolled in or recently completed a degree/diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, Web Development, or related fields.
Familiarity with popular e-commerce platforms such as Shopify, WooCommerce, Magento, or BigCommerce is a plus.
Understanding of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and basic programming languages.
Familiarity with CMS tools like WordPress, WooCommerce, or Shopify.
Ability to analyze website data and provide insights for improvement.
Ability to manage product listings and ensure that content is accurate and aligned with brand standards.
Clear and effective communication skills to collaborate with various teams.

Skills

HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, and knowledge of responsive design.
Basic knowledge of Shopify, WooCommerce, or other platforms.
Familiarity with Git and GitHub for collaborative development.
Basic knowledge of MySQL or other database systems.
Understanding SEO practices and the ability to implement them in an e-commerce context.
Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues quickly.
Familiarity with tools like Trello, Jira, or Asana for managing tasks and projects.
A good eye for design and understanding of user experience principles.
